Is The Book Of Revelation Really So Different From The Rest Of The New Testament?

When we read this book, we will find that there are many questions we cannot answer, many things that we cannot explain. Nevertheless, there is one thing we must never forget - This is "the revelation of Jesus Christ." Whenever you're having difficulty understanding this mysterious book, remember its first five words - "the revelation of Jesus Christ."Some people dismiss the Book of Revelation because it seems so different from the rest of the New Testament. This book contains many symbols which are difficult to understand. Nevertheless, we must ask, "Is it really so different from the rest of the New Testament?"
* The Book of Revelation speaks much of the Second Coming of Christ. So did Jesus! So did Paul! So did Peter!
* The Book of Revelation calls us to get ready for the Lord's Return. So do the Gospels! So do the New Testament Letters, written by faithful men like Paul and Peter. The triumphant message, proclaimed in the Book of Revelation, - Jesus is Lord - is the message of the whole New Testament. The Book of Revelation may proclaim this great message in its own distinctive way. It is not, however, saying anything essentially different from the rest of the New Testament. Surely, if we are to understand all that Jesus Christ, we must not forget to read the last book of the Bible.
