Just For The Ladies

A Much Needed Book For Christian Women.

Mission Possible, a book of encouragement for women who come to know the Lord in their marriage first… This book will discuss the ups and downs of being married to someone who doesn’t share your passion for Jesus. Living in peace with God and your spouse is essential to keeping your joy intact and your hope alive. This short book is an “easy read”, but has much to say! You will want to read it over and over again!

Submit Yourselef To The Elder

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Trusting In Christ’s Love, We Learn To Love.

The Pharisees lived by law. Jesus lived by love. The law of God – ‘holy and just and good’ (Romans 7:12) – had been distorted by the religious hypocrites. They were saying, ‘love your neighbour and hate your enemy’ (Matthew 5:43). ‘Love your neighbour’ is found in Leviticus 19:18. ‘Hate your enemy’ is not found in the Old Testament. For the Jews, ‘neighbour’ meant their own kind. They wrongly concluded that Gentiles were to be hated. Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan makes it clear that we are to love our enemies as well as our friends (Luke 10:25-37). Jesus’ disagreement is not with the law of God. It is with man’s misuse of it. Jesus’ teaching is simple – Love is not to be limited. It is demanding – love is all-embracing. We dare not bring love within our reach. We always fall short. We can only come to Christ. Confessing our lack of love and trusting in His perfect love, we learn to love.

The Fruit Of Compromise

Jesus spoke of the man who built his house on solid foundation vs. the man that built his house on sand. One was built on rock solid foundation, while the other was not. Jesus went on to say that the house built on the solid foundation could withstand difficult times, that the winds could blow and the house would remain, but that the house built on sand would not stand and great would be the fall of it. Just imagine the endless situations and circumstances that this application could apply to.

Sometimes it's possible to start out on solid foundation and slowly be moved to unstable foundation. One way for this to happen is through compromise. We all occasionally compromise, however if we continue to walk in compromise it can cause a shift and that shift can lead to unstable grounds.

When this happens, we must examine situations, ourselves, and the path that we have taken. For it's easy to get off course in today's world.

There are blessings found in the straight and narrow.

Balloon Saga Potential Hoax

I'm sure that you watch the balloon that came loose and everyone thought that a boy was inside of it. The ordeal was shown on nationwide television a few weeks ago as the balloon traveled some 20 plus miles at 3,000 plus feet high. It was quite a sight to see on television, especially with the potential that a small young boy might have been in the balloon.

Well according to recent news reports online, apparently the whole situation may have been a hoax right from take off. Apparently the mother of the 6 year old boy that once feared that the boy was missing inside a runaway helium balloon admitted the whole saga was a hoax according to the article.

It just goes to show you the emotional power of nationwide television because as this odeal was first shown on television millions around the country and possibly the world were convinced that a young boy was in that balloon. For me, regardless of what was, I'm just glad that he wasn't indeed in that balloon. Hats off to all the local authorities that chased that balloon down and brought it safely back to earth the whole time having great concern that a boy might be in the helium balloon. They are the true hero's.

Ancient Greek Gods, Societies & History

I'm sure you've study a little history on the Ancient Greek Gods. It's actually a fun study to look into and it definitely gives you an overview on ancient societies and ancient history of some of the cultures of the world. There is so much history when it comes to mankind that to study it all could take a lifetime. Just imagine living 1,000 years ago, or even in the days of Christ.

I love to read the Bible which shares accounts clear back to creation in the book of Genesis when the Lord God formed man from the dust of the earth. We all know the story of Adam and Eve. The Bible is filled with history, accounts, life and matters that pertain to eternal life. Let me encourage you to add the Bible to your studies daily. For within the scriptures are some of the most important things you will ever read.

Blessings, and remember God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus to die for the sins of the world.

Psalm 10 - It’s Either One Or The Other – Turning Towards God Or Turning Away From Him (Part Two).

Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless” (v.12).
God is calling us to return to Him. He’s calling us to turn away from the way of the wicked. He’s calling us to walk with Him. When we pray, “Do not forget the helpless”, we begin by praying, “Lord, remember me, I need Your help.” We read about “the wicked” (vs. 13, 15). We read about “the victim” (v. 14). What is God saying to us? He’s saying to us, “Don’t be like the wicked man who reviles God. Don’t be like the wicked man who says to himself, “He won’t call me to account” (v. 13).He’s saying to us, “Be like the victim – ‘The victim commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless’ (v. 14).”He’s saying to us, “There will be judgment – ‘the wicked and evil man will be called to account for his wickedness’ (v. 15).”He’s calling us back from the way that leads to judgment. He’s calling us to acknowledge that He “is King for ever and ever” (v. 16). He’s calling us to come to Him with “the desire of the afflicted” (v. 17). He’s speaking to us His Word of encouragement, assuring that we need not live in fear of man (vs. 17-18). Saved by the Lord, let us walk with Him in the pathway of victory.

Psalm 10 - It’s Either One Or The Other – Turning Towards God Or Turning Away From Him (Part One).

"Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?"
This question can be turned around. God puts the question to us, “Why, in your times of trouble, do you stand far off?” In this Psalm, God is inviting us to think about the kind of people we are becoming. Are we turning away from God? Or Are we turning towards Him?
It’s either one or the other – turning towards God or turning away from Him.
We read about “the wicked man” who “hunts down the weak” (v. 2). He thinks only of himself – “He boasts of the cravings of his heart.” There is no place for the Lord in his life – “he reviles the Lord. In his pride the wicked does not seek Him: in all his thoughts there is no room for God”(vs. 3-4). Things are going well for him – “His ways are always prosperous.” He doesn’t give thanks to God – “he is haughty and Your laws are far from him.” He thinks that everything will keep on going his way – “He says to himself, ‘Nothing will shake me; I’ll always be happy and never have trouble.’” (vs. 5-6). The wicked man shows contempt towards other people – “he sneers at all his enemies” (v. 5) – His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue. He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent, watching in secret for his victims. He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength” (vs. 7-10). The wicked man thinks that he can do what he likes – “He says to himself, ‘God has forgotten; he covers his face and never sees.’” (v. 11).Are we becoming like the wicked man? God is calling us to turn back to Him.

America Must Do Something

I must admit that I'm at a loss. We have NASA which accomplishes great things. We have technology that is flat out amazing. Our military is the most powerful well equipped military in the world. The world looks to America for many things and to help solve many problems. Yet, we can't safeguard our citizens and our children from drugs, gangs and the violence, death and destruction they cause.

In the blink of an eye, we can ship men off to war, prepare entire battle plans and engage an enemy with strategic force, yet we can't end illegal drugs. We are able to put satellites into orbit, but we can't end illegal drugs.

I just wonder why? Why can America accomplish such great things, however America can't stop the flow of illegal drugs into our country? I'm praying for a drug free America and for our children's future, free from drugs, gangs, violence, and the death and destruction they cause. America, wake up.

For The Perfecting Of The Saints

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Jesus Christ.

Your Shall Know Them & They Shall Know You By Fruits

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

There Is Power In The Words That We Speak To Others

Encouragement goes along ways. It helps people overcome feelings of loss, hopelessness, depression and can press through sad times. Encouragement is like medicine that stirs the depths of us to press forward, overcome and find victory.

Sometimes just the simplicity of saying "everything will be alright" or "your going to do great" can make all the difference in the world. Encouragement is an extension of the very fruits of the spirit, an extension of love and compassion and is a powerful seed that when sown can produce great fruit in the lives of others.

Be an encourager and sow seeds that are fruitful.

The Death Toll Rises In The Philippines - Please Pray

News reports share that the death toll has risen to 246 from water that flooded the homes of nearly 2 million people in the Philippines and that the presidential palace was opened as a relief center. With more rain expected there could be further loss of life, flooding, damage and lives affected. Please pray for the people of the Philippines.

Thank you for your prayers, for Jesus said "my house shall be called a house of prayer".

A Call To Prayer

‘Our God is able’(Daniel 3:17). Do we believe this? There is no doubt about God’s power. What about our faith? We come to Jesus, saying, ‘If you can’. Jesus turns things around: ‘If you can! All things are possible to him who believes’(Mark 9:22-23). This is not so much an appeal for positive thinking. It is a call to prayer (Mark 9:29). Less self-confidence and more confidence in God – This is what we need. God’s greatness is more important than our ‘greatness’(Mark 9:33-35). Are there things that you don’t understand? Don’t be afraid to ask (Mark 9:32). You may even learn from those who ‘don’t belong to our group’(Mark 9:38-40). They don’t belong to our group? So what? Do they belong to Christ? That’s what matters. ‘It is better’(Mark 9:43,45,47) to be Christ’s – than anything else! May our faith, though ‘tested by fire’, grow strong – to God’s glory (Mark 9:49-50; 1 Peter 1: 6-7).

Carefully Choose The Right Path & Foundation

Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

The Next President Of The United States

Who will be the next President Of The United States? Will Obama seek a second term and if so would the American people put him back in the White House? Will Hillary Clinton run again or possible the gal from Alaska? What will the country look like by that time? Will America's economy have recovered? Will all the US Troops be out of Iraq and what of Afghanistan? Will the stock market be strong or still encountering problems? Will all the bail outs have rescued the American Economy of will the American people find themselves in a depression? What does and will the future bring. Of lately things seem very uncertain with all the financial matters that have unfolded. Who knows what the future will bring.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Children's Over The Counter Medicine

Wow! of lately there's been lots of recalls on kids over the counter medicines. I'm not going to mention brands, however I do want to encourage our readers that have children to be aware of all the recent recalls over the last year and there have been plenty. There was another announcement of a recall tonight on the news and yes, we had some in our medicine cabinet. My suggestion is Google recalled medicines, and stay informed.

Our Great Saviour And His Great Salvation

‘See how great He is!’(Hebrews 7:4). These words refer to Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:1-3; Genesis 14:18-20). Melchizedek has ‘neither beginning of days nor end of life’. He ‘continues a priest for ever’. He ‘resembles the Son of God’. He is ‘like the Son of God’ (Hebrews 7:3). Let your thoughts move from Melchizedek to the Lord Jesus Christ – ‘See how great He is’! Jesus Christ is ‘the Beginning and the End’ (Revelation 21:6; 22:13). ‘Jesus lives for ever’and ‘has a permanent priesthood’ (Hebrews 7:24). He is our great Saviour: ‘He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him’ (Hebrews 7:25). We look beyond Melchizedek. We look to our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. We look to Him and we say, ‘There’s no greater Name than Jesus, Name of Him who came to save us’ (Mission Praise, 684). Let Jesus be your great Saviour. Come to Him and receive His great salvation.

Shopping Carts Gone Wild

Have you ever been there? You're at the grocery store and the parking lot is full of stray shopping carts. Why? Well that's because the last person that used the cart didn't take the time to put it in the secure area designed for shopping carts. Rather that taking the time to return the shopping cart, they just left it sitting by the car.

Rewards shall be given and rewards taken away, so the scriptures say. Take the time to put the shopping cart away and be a blessing to others that visit the grocery store in your community. Besides, what goes around comes around and you just might save your car from a ding in the door.

We all reap what we sow, and blessings are found in being responsible.

Born Trouble Makers That Create Situations

There's nothing worse than bad hair day people. People that are always looking for some dramatic situation to unfold to make their day seem worth wild. People that are always gossipping about the latest, meddling in other peoples affairs, pointing fingers at others, judging and creating drama. I just don't understand that mind set. As if peace, happiness and joy escape them. What kind of life is that?

Life is beautiful, it is wonderful and it is filled with wonder. Yes, there are those days, weeks and sometimes seasons, but why with intent create difficulties and hardships. Why light the fire, place the skillet on it and jump into the skillet. And the worst part, why expect others to jump into the skillet with you.

Trade your bad hair day mentality in for days of peace, balance, and sound mind.
